Blossom Way Bowling Club GDPR Privacy Statement
Blossom Way Bowling Club has the legal and moral duty to protect the data of their members. Many points of GDPR already apply under current data protection laws. The GDPR came into effect in May 2018. It replaced the Data Protection Act 1998 and covers the storage and use of ‘Personal Data’. Personal data is defined as any piece of personal information that can be used to identify an individual, either directly or indirectly.
This includes information such as an individual’s:
• Name
• Telephone Number
• E‐mail address
• Date of birth
• Health information
• Location data
• Online identifier e.g. IP addresses or cookies
Information regarding internal or external matches such as Club fixtures,
Association, County or National matches.
Sharing data with other members, contact details, name, email address,
telephone number and address data are subject to members’ consent. This should be agreed via the bowlers’ consent form. Members should also be asked to confirm, via the consent form that any photos taken whilst attending bowls or other activities at the Club may be used in promotions, social media/online platforms and print media advertisements.
No other sensitive information should be shared without separate agreement.
We align the GDPR policy to the English Bowling Association, English Bowls
Federation and current Government Advice.
We will not share members information with third parties without their informed consent.
We will ensure that parents or official guardian accept receipt of information on behalf of children (aged under 18). In accordance with English Bowls Federation safeguarding policy.
We will delete members information should they leave the Club
